Safran Cabin Programs is seeking a Program Manager for a permanent full-time position in Santa Maria, California, United States. The role offers a salary range of $88,210 - $140,190 USD and is an ITAR controlled position.
Job Description
The Program Manager will have responsibility, authority, and full accountability for the successful execution and customer satisfaction of the program under his/her leadership. Key responsibilities include:
- Overall financial performance of the program
- Maintaining the business case for the entire program life cycle
- Monitoring and controlling program non-recurring expenses
- Ensuring profitability through design to cost management
- Updating program financials and determining root cause and corrective actions for variances
- Program bid, planning, and control
- Developing estimates of non-recurrent and recurring costs targets
- Working with the integrated program team to develop, baseline, and maintain the program integrated master schedule
- Analyzing and prioritizing tasks on the critical path throughout the program life cycle
- Supporting sales and operations planning meetings and coordinating program medium to long range planning
- Identifying and managing program risks and opportunities
- Reviewing customer contract compliance and control scope
- Being the primary point of contact with the customer over the entire program life cycle
- Communicating to the customer the commitments of the business unit
- Arranging program progress reviews with the customer
- Reporting to the customer a progress status of the program
- Overseeing assigned project manager(s) and integrated program team work package leaders
- Building teams and facilitating conflict resolution
- Setting program priorities and providing strategic guidance on day-to-day program issues
- Establishing program governance, including program key performance indicators and conducting weekly program review
- Monitoring key performance indicators, including earn value management indicators, and ensuring variances are addressed in a timely manner
- Providing annual performance review input for integrated program team resources to functional leadership
- Identifying and managing program interdependencies
- Serving as the primary liaison with executive management
- Providing the voice of the customer
- Providing strategic guidance from an operational perspective
- Supporting monthly review with documented corrective action for any red KPIs
- Determining required program resource needs through development and serial production
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: Typically requires 6 years of project manager or project engineer experience in a commercial aerospace environment. Basic knowledge of program management methodologies and proven ability to manage complex projects. Computer skills: Proficient with MS Project. Other skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships, leadership skills, organizational skills, ability to analyze and summarize information, financial acumen. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail. Problem solving, well organized, detailed oriented, and accurate.
Additional preferred skills: Degree in engineering, Project Management certification (PMI, PMP, etc.), experience with LEAN principles and continuous improvement. Business travel up to 25% likely.
