Job description

Principal

The Principal serves as the primary administrator and instructional leader of the school building. Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Principal is responsible for the daily operations of the school, the safety of students and staff, and the implementation of the district's strategic goals. The Principal is tasked with fostering a nurturing environment that embeds the school's core values into every aspect of the educational experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Master's degree in Educational Leadership or Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in school administration or a leadership role.
  • Certification: Must hold valid state certification in School Administration/Instructional Leadership.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Instructional Leadership & School Culture
    • Serves as the primary instructional leader, ensuring that classroom instruction is high-quality and aligned with district standards.
    • Culture Builder: Cultivates a positive, safe, and inclusive school environment for students, faculty, and parents.
    • Values Integration: Actively embeds and models the school's core values.
  • Daily Operations & Management
    • Directs all daily operations of the school campus, including scheduling, student discipline, and facility maintenance.
    • Implements all Board policies and Head of School directives at the building level.
    • Collaborates with the Head of School to ensure school-level operations support the broader goals of the district.
  • Personnel & Professional Development
    • Supervises and evaluates all school-based personnel (teachers, support staff, and custodial teams).
    • Provides ongoing coaching and professional development to staff to improve instructional outcomes and maintain a positive morale.
    • Assists the Head of School in the recruitment and hiring of high-quality staff members.
  • Financial & Resource Stewardship
    • Manages the school-level budget in coordination with the Head of School and CSFO.
    • Ensures that school funds, Title I resources, and activity accounts are spent appropriately and in compliance with state law.
    • Identifies resource needs and works with the Head of School to secure the tools necessary for student success.
  • Community Engagement & Relationships
    • Acts as a "people person" by building strong, trusting relationships with parents, guardians, and local community partners.
    • Communicates effectively and transparently with stakeholders regarding school progress, challenges, and successes.
    • Advocates for the school's needs and partners with the Head of School to bring in additional community support and resources.

Compensation

  • 12 Months (260 Days)
  • Salary: Minimum: $102,983 (Negotiable - based on experience and highest earned degree)
