Director of Emergency Services | Hands-On Leader Needed

An acute care hospital in the Southeastern U.S. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Emergency Services to lead a high-performing Emergency Department. As the Director of Emergency Services, youll oversee clinical care delivery, operations, staffing, and education for a busy Emergency Department. Youll work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, improve patient outcomes, and lead quality initiatives.

• 25+ bed Emergency Department
• Supportive Assistant Director
• Over 100 patients per day, 35K annually
• Longstanding, high-performing clinical team
• A CNO who values transparency, accountability, and hands-on leadership

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Emergency Department team
• Ensure delivery of safe, efficient, and evidence-based care
• Monitor departmental metrics and drive performance improvement
• Oversee staff development, orientation, and ongoing education
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation
• Lead accreditation and compliance efforts
• Collaborate with hospital leaders on capacity planning and patient flow

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing or related field required; Masters preferred
• RN Licensure in applicable state or compact state
• BLS and ACLS required; CEN, TNCC, and ENPC preferred
• 36 years of clinical ED experience
• 12 years of Director level experience in Emergency Services
