Job description

Management Trainee

Are you an experienced professional ready to elevate your career to the next level? Encore Fire Protection is seeking ambitious, strategic thinkers for our Management Trainee position. Designed for individuals with proven leadership potential, this position offers a unique opportunity to refine your skills, broaden your expertise, and prepare for high-impact roles within our organization.

Through immersive on-the-job training, executive mentorship, and exposure to cross-functional operations, you'll develop the strategic insight and decision-making abilities required to lead at the highest levels. If you're a forward-thinking leader with a track record of success and a drive for excellence, this is your chance to accelerate your journey to executive leadership.

Encore is an industry leading, full-service fire protection company serving all of the Northeast. Over the past 30 years, Encore Fire Protection has developed a time-tested model that combines technical experience, committed customer service, and a straightforward approach to operations and communication. We have a customer first approach to everything we do, and that's why it is imperative that this person has a strong social orientation and a desire to serve people.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  1. Assist in planning, scheduling, and overseeing fire sprinkler installation projects to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  2. Gain hands-on experience managing teams, coordinating field operations, and ensuring compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
  3. Support senior management in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, addressing project needs, and resolving challenges proactively.
  4. Collaborate with field supervisors and technicians to promote efficient workflows, effective communication, and high-quality workmanship.
  5. Analyze project budgets, monitor costs, and identify opportunities to optimize profitability and resource allocation.
  6. Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, as well as company safety and quality standards, during all phases of fire sprinkler system projects.
  7. Rotate through various departments, including design, estimating, project management, and field operations, to develop a well-rounded understanding of the business.
  8. Contribute to long-term planning initiatives, identifying growth opportunities and areas for operational improvement within the division.
  9. Work closely with senior leaders to learn best practices, receive ongoing feedback, and prepare for future leadership roles.

Requirements

We'd encourage anyone who is applying to see this as an entry-point into an organization that truly values ambition and rewards hard work. The only limits to where someone in this position can rise are the ones they put on themselves. Requirements are simple:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant management experience (preferred).
  • The ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities, such as taking initiative, motivating others, and making decisions, even if on a small scale.
  • Display both verbal and written communication to effectively manage teams and interact with other departments and clients.
  • Experience with software such as Procore, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs (preferred).
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced training environment.
  • Willingness to try, learn new things, admit mistakes, adapt and change.
  • Motivated and eager to advance in a leadership position.

Benefits

As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. Here are just a few perks that a successful individual in this role can expect:

  • Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role
  • Purpose and results driven work environment (work smarter not harder)
  • We dress for the objective which means most days we wear jeans but occasionally we wear suits. As long as you know which situations require which (or aren't afraid to ask), you'll be all set!
  • Speaking of attire, we offer all employees Encore gear when they join the team
  • Freedom to express ideas - a culture of willingness to test, try, modify, adopt, enhance, improve and change as needed
  • Access to leading edge web-based productivity tools
  • Participation in Fidelity 401(K) that includes employer match
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits through Blue Cross
  • Company-paid life insurance policy of $50,000
