Job description

Regional Sales Manager, ITS East

The Regional Sales Manager, ITS East, will be responsible for driving strategic growth and market expansion across the Eastern United States.

This is not a transactional sales role. The ideal candidate will serve as a regional market leader responsible for:

  • Developing long-term customer relationships
  • Influencing transportation specifications
  • Supporting distributor growth
  • Driving engineering engagement
  • Expanding strategic ITS partnerships
  • Positioning Seyond as a market leader in LiDAR-based intersection and roadway detection

This role requires a strong understanding of public-sector transportation sales, ITS deployment cycles, specification development, and distributor/channel management.

The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with state DOTs, municipalities, counties, engineering consultants, system integrators, and distribution partners to accelerate the adoption of Seyond's SIMPL platform and LiDAR detection technologies.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reporting to: Vice President of Sales, ITS Americas
  • Location: Remote Eastern United States
  • Travel: Approximately 3040% throughout the territory

Territory:

  • Southeast
  • Mid-Atlantic
  • Northeast/New England regions

This is a remote, field-based position requiring residence within the territory and near a major airport to support efficient regional travel and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales & Market Development:

  • Drive regional revenue growth and market penetration for Seyond ITS solutions.
  • Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with company revenue objectives.
  • Build strategic relationships with:
    • State DOTs
    • Municipal transportation departments
    • Toll authorities
    • Transit agencies
    • Engineering consultants
    • ITS integrators
    • Channel/distribution partners
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new opportunities from early specification stages through project award and deployment.

Specification & Engineering Engagement:

  • Influence project specifications and approved product lists through direct engagement with engineering firms and public agencies.
  • Conduct technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, demonstrations, and customer workshops.
  • Support pilot programs, field evaluations, and proof-of-concept deployments.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants and agencies to position Seyond technologies within future roadway modernization initiatives.

Distributor & Partner Development:

  • Support and enable Seyond's distributor-first go-to-market strategy.
  • Conduct joint customer meetings and strategic account planning with regional distribution partners.
  • Assist partners with pipeline development, sales strategy, competitive positioning, and technical education.
  • Ensure alignment between Seyond, channel partners, and end users throughout the sales process.

Pipeline Management & Forecasting:

  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM discipline using HubSpot.
  • Track project funding cycles, bid activity, infrastructure grants, and procurement timelines.
  • Provide executive visibility into:
    • Regional sales activity
    • Specification progress
    • Pipeline health
    • Competitive threats
    • Revenue forecasts

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with:
    • Business Development
    • Product Management
    • Engineering
    • Field Application Engineering
    • Customer Success
  • Provide market feedback to help shape future product development and roadmap priorities.
  • Support successful deployment and customer adoption following project award.

Industry Leadership:

  • Represent Seyond at:
    • ITS America
    • Regional ITS organizations
    • Transportation conferences
    • Customer events
    • Industry working groups
  • Establish Seyond as a trusted thought leader within the ITS ecosystem.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in ITS, transportation technology, traffic systems, smart infrastructure, or related industries.
  • Proven experience selling technology solutions into public-sector transportation markets.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • DOT procurement processes
    • Transportation funding cycles
    • Consultant-driven specifications
    • Competitive bid environments
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and long deployment timelines.

Technical & Industry Knowledge:

  • Preferred experience with:
    • LiDAR technologies
    • Traffic detection systems
    • Video analytics
    • Edge computing
    • Connected intersections
    • Advanced traffic management systems
    • Smart city infrastructure
  • Familiarity with:
    • ITS architecture
    • Traffic operations
    • Intersection safety applications
    • Multimodal detection
    • Roadway infrastructure systems

Professional Skills:

  • Strong executive presence and relationship-building ability.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized with strong CRM and forecasting discipline.
  • Self-motivated and capable of operating independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to balance strategic account development with day-to-day sales execution.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in one or more of the following fields preferred:
    • Business
    • Engineering
    • Transportation
    • Urban Planning
    • or related field preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • Approximately 3040% travel throughout the Eastern United States.
  • Regular travel to customer sites, distributor locations, engineering firms, industry conferences, and transportation agencies is expected.
  • Candidate must reside near a major airport within the territory.
  • Occasional national travel for company meetings, trade shows, and strategic customer events.
