This position is contingent upon contract award.
This position is responsible for:
Duties:
Required Experience:
Must be intimately familiar with both the international and U.S. inland, rules of the road.
Must have experience with deck cargo load-out and securing procedures.
Must have proven ability to interact with scientific and other technical personnel who may not be conversant with daily shipboard operations and limitations.
Education/Certifications:
Maritime Academy graduate OR 5 years Master/Chief Mate experience. Alternatively: Masters degree in related field OR Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience.
USCG Master credential (>500 GRT) License must have GMDSS, STCW, and ARPA radar endorsements.
Additionally Preferred Training:
"Life Boatman" endorsement
Firefighting, CPR, Basic Life Support training
Security Clearance:
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI security clearance.
