Staff Design Evaluation Engineer

About the Role
Join our industry‑leading product engineering team advancing next‑generation converter and SERDES technologies. As a Staff Engineer, you will be a key technical leader responsible for evaluating, characterizing, and validating the performance of advanced ADC, DAC, and SERDES IP. Your work will directly enable business units across ADEF, Instrumentation, Communications, and Data Center systems to design cutting‑edge modules and system solutions. This role demands deep technical expertise, hands‑on lab proficiency, and close collaboration with design, test, applications, and marketing teams to ensure robust, high‑performance products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead evaluation and characterization of ADCs, DACs, and high-speed serial interfaces for cutting-edge transceiver products.
  • Debug and analyze complex mixed-signal and RF systems across all operating conditions; document and present findings to design and cross-functional teams.
  • Perform functional and performance testing of new silicon and embedded software, ensuring readiness for production release.
  • Develop and automate test solutions using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and other programming tools for RF and mixed-signal verification.
  • Utilize precision measurement equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators) to establish RF, analog, and digital performance metrics.
  • Provide recommendations on testability, manufacturability, and qualification readiness; support field quality initiatives.
  • Interface as a central resource with design, applications, and marketing teams; engage directly with customers to resolve product issues.
  • Analyze measurement data and contribute to system-level solutions for transceiver products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 5+ years of industry experience in RF/mixed-signal product engineering.
  • Proven expertise in automating RF tests and working with advanced lab equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
  • Strong programming and debug skills in Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and familiarity with C/C++ or similar languages.
  • Deep knowledge of analog and RF circuits, high-speed serial interfaces, ADCs/DACs, and mixed-signal systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, global teams.
