Leyden High School District 212 is seeking a talented candidate for the position of Theater Operations Manager. The position is available immediately with a salary of $35.00 per hour. This is a union position with a 12-month term.
The requirements for this position include a bachelor's degree in theater technology or a related field, preferred. The candidate should have extensive scenic, lighting, and sound design expertise and extensive fine arts production experience. The position requires 40 hours per week.
The benefits include paid holidays, paid sick leave days, vacation days, insurance participation, and IMRF participation as per the union contract.
The essential job functions include designing, constructing, and executing technical elements for auditorium events on both campuses, working well with others, speaking clearly and writing legibly, dealing effectively with people both in person and on the telephone, standing, walking, running, and/or climbing stairs for part of the working hours, being aware of the security of the students, staff, and school property, working a flexible schedule, demonstrating maturity, interest, and commitment to supporting program students, being proficient in Google Suite and production applications, being reliable and punctual, and maintaining confidentiality regarding all student and staff records, concerns, and disciplinary matters.
The performance responsibilities include collaborating with the Fine Arts Coordinator and District Office Supervisor to plan Fine Arts/Auditorium calendars, coordinating with event planners to prepare and oversee all technical requests, attending all Fine Arts meetings as needed, managing all aspects of the auditoriums and related spaces for both day use, classes, events, and performances and rentals, ensuring the auditorium and related facilities and their equipment are in good working order and within the budget, ensuring that theatre spaces are clean and organized daily for the safety of the students, staff, and the public, maintaining general repair of theatre spaces and stagecraft equipment, creating and updating procedures that help maintain the equipment in the Auditorium, training and supervising student assistants in the use of appropriate equipment and safety procedures, attending all production-related meetings to assist with developing a schedule, planning for supplies, and ensuring all deadlines are met, and performing additional duties as requested by the Fine Arts Chairperson or District Office Supervisor.
