Based in remotely with travel to Arizona as required. We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy, product architecture, and engineering organization. As a core member of the executive team, you will define and drive the technical roadmap for our microgrid solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and innovation. **Job Requirements** Technology Strategy & Leadership + Define and execute the company’s technology vision and roadmap aligned with business goals + Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team on product direction and innovation + Evaluate emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage Product & Platform Development + Lead the design and development of microgrid control platforms and energy management systems (EMS) + Architect scalable, secure, and resilient systems across hardware, firmware, and cloud layers + Oversee integration of solar PV, battery storage, EV infrastructure, and DER assets Engineering & Team Building + Build and lead a high-performing, distributed engineering team + Establish agile development processes and technical standards + Mentor and develop technical leaders within the organization Operations & Execution + Ensure successful product delivery from concept through deployment + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align timelines and technical requirements + Manage technology budgets and vendor partnerships Compliance, Security & Reliability + Ensure compliance with energy regulations and cybersecurity best practices + Maintain system reliability for mission-critical deployments **Qualifications:** + 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles + Strong background in energy systems, microgrids, or distributed energy resources + Experience building and scaling software platforms and hardware-integrated systems + Experience leading remote or distributed teams + Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, IoT architectures, and data analytics Preferred + Experience with energy management systems, SCADA, or grid-edge technologies + Knowledge of utility markets and regulatory frameworks + Familiarity with AI/ML applications in energy optimization + Prior experience in climate tech or sustainability-focused companies Key Competencies + Strategic thinking and innovation + Hands-on technical leadership + Cross-functional collaboration + Startup mindset and adaptability *****Notice to Candidates:** Background checks are carried out as part of any conditional offer made, including (but not limited to & role dependent) education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verifications and Global Watchlist screening **.** **To be Considered Candidates:** Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship*** Employment Type: Direct, Permanent Location of Position: Remote with travel to Arizona as needed Location Type: Remote, Project Site TRS Staffing Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce.
