Job description

Position Purpose:

The PIM Administrator for the Company will spearhead the maintenance and optimization of PIM data model structures and configurations, ensuring efficient support for product data and taxonomy requirements aligned with business objectives. Reporting to the Enterprise PIM Manager, this role involves strategic collaboration with technical teams to enhance data flow processes into and out of the PIM system, facilitating seamless syndication to digital channels and allied systems. The successful candidate will exercise meticulous attention to detail and analytical acumen to drive data model improvements, uphold system integrity through proactive audits and troubleshooting, and establish comprehensive documentation to support continuous business operations and system evolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous enhancement of the data model configuration within the PIM system to ensure robust support for product data and taxonomy maintenance, thereby optimizing data integrity and operational efficiency

  • Strategically manage and prioritize the PIM configuration features backlog in close collaboration with our third-party implementation partner to ensure alignment with business objectives and timely execution of enhancements

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with IT and development teams to refine data syndication and ingestion processes between PIM and key systems such as ERP, E-commerce platforms, and DAM, enhancing data flow accuracy and system interoperability

  • Implement and manage structured workflows within PIM tailored to support efficient SKU onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring alignment with business and stakeholder needs

  • Provide expert guidance on the configuration of new fields and entities within the PIM system to meet evolving stakeholder requirements, optimizing system setup for comprehensive data management

  • Develop and implement stringent data validation checks to ensure thorough product data enrichment and integrity, facilitating high-quality data syndication across diverse digital channels

  • Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation detailing PIM processes and mappings with connected systems, ensuring clarity and consistency in data management practices and facilitating effective stakeholder communication

  • Proactively update and maintain the product data model in response to changing taxonomy requirements and digital channel developments, ensuring ongoing relevance and system accuracy

  • Conduct regular system audits to identify and address data completeness issues, ensuring seamless syndication across multiple channels and preserving data accuracy

  • Oversee system monitoring and troubleshooting initiatives to promptly identify, communicate, and resolve system and syndication issues, thereby ensuring smooth operational flow and minimal disruptions

Direct Manager Direct Reports:

  • The PIM Administrator will report directly to the Enterprise PIM Manager within the Product Data Operations team. This role does not have any direct reports. The PIM Administrator will act as a critical liaison, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive data management and optimization initiatives. This position is pivotal in enhancing PIM system efficiency to support the Company’s digital and product data strategies.


Travel Requirements:

  • The PIM Administrator position may require occasional travel, as necessary, to collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on product data management and syndication processes.


Physical Requirements:

  • This role requires standard physical capabilities associated with an office-based work environment. As a PIM Administrator, you will primarily engage in tasks that are sedentary, involving extensive use of computers and other standard office equipment. The position typically requires prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer, using a keyboard and mouse for data input and system navigation. It involves analyzing extensive data sets and creating comprehensive technical documentation. Candidates must be capable of verbal communication in meetings and presentations, necessitating clear articulate speech and attentive listening. Regular communication will be performed via video conferencing and phone calls; therefore, effective digital communication skills are essential.

  • The position is remote, allowing for flexibility in choosing a conducive work environment and adjusting setups for personal comfort as needed. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a PIM administrator role, with a proven track record in data model configuration and product data management

  • Proficient understanding and hands-on experience with PIM systems, with demonstrated capabilities in establishing and optimizing data model structures

  • Extensive experience in Excel, with proficiency in complex formulas, pivot tables, queries, lookups, and data validation techniques

  • Strong knowledge of data management systems and architectures, with a focus on data modeling, metadata management, and data governance

  • Solid understanding and experience with data syndication processes and workflows within PIM and its integration with ERP, E-commerce platforms, and DAM systems

  • Excellent technical documentation skills with the ability to cater documentation for both technical and business users

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an ability to troubleshoot system issues and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail in managing product data and system configurations

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including technical stakeholders and third-party implementation partners

  • Organized and highly efficient in managing multiple initiatives and priorities within a fast-paced environment

  • Effective change management skills, with the ability to stay informed on feature updates and communicate relevant changes to stakeholders and the team

  • Experience in supporting PIM users, with a focus on establishing and adjusting user roles and permissions to meet organizational needs

  • Ability to develop and execute system audits to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data for various digital syndication channels

  • Must demonstrate a commitment to maintaining and optimizing PIM functionalities to support organizational objectives and digital channel strategies effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with leading Product Information Management systems, such as inriver or similar platforms, highlighting the ability to leverage system capabilities for strategic business advantage

  • Advanced skills in scripting or coding for automation and data manipulation, including but not limited to SQL, Python, or other relevant languages, to optimize data processes and workflows

  • Prior experience in integrating PIM systems with eCommerce platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and enhancing user experience across digital channels

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, Marketing, and Product Management, to align PIM initiatives with organizational objectives

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques, leveraging insights to inform decisions related to product data structuring and syndication effectiveness

  • Experience designing and implementing change management strategies that address user adoption and optimization of PIM systems in alignment with organizational changes

  • Proven track record in identifying and driving process improvements and efficiencies, fostering a culture of excellence within product data operations.

  • Demonstrable skills in stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and drive alignment on strategic product data initiatives across various levels of an organization.

  • Recognition as a thought leader in product information management, with contributions to industry forums, publications, or conferences evidencing expertise and thought leadership in the field

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field


Preferred Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is required, with a master's degree in Business Administration or Data Management being highly desirable for enhanced expertise in overseeing complex data operations and strategic implementations.


Minimum Years Of Work Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of experience working with product information, data operations, or supporting PIM-related workflows in a business or technical environment.

Certifications:

  • inriver PIM Certification – Required: Demonstrates competency in inriver PIM functionalities and best practices, ensuring the effective implementation and management of the platform.

  • Data Management Certification – Preferred: Validates expertise in data modeling, metadata management, and data governance to enhance product data operations.

  • Certification in Change Management – Preferred: Supports strategic communication and implementation of feature updates and process changes to key stakeholders.

  • Advanced Excel Certification – Preferred: Confirms advanced proficiency in Excel, necessary for managing complex data manipulations and validations critical to the role.

Salary Pay Transparency Statement

  • The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $77,400.00 to $127,600.00 annually. Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, profit-sharing programs, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively liaises with IT, development teams, and other stakeholders, articulating technical updates and system changes clearly and ensuring alignment on data syndication improvements and configuration practices.

  • Change Management and Adaptability: Stays informed of inriver feature updates, adeptly communicates necessary changes to relevant teams, and adapts documentation and processes to align with evolving system capabilities and stakeholder needs.

  • User Support and Training: Provides expert guidance to PIM users, ensuring roles and permissions are accurately maintained, and facilitating understanding through effective technical documentation and support.

  • Project Management: Demonstrates the ability to manage partnerships with third-party implementation partners, navigate complex project backlogs, and drive successful outcomes in system configuration and optimization initiatives.
