NSLP Coordinator
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) Coordinator supports Transportation, Warehouse, and Inventory leadership in managing the daily operations of the school commodities program. This role is responsible for coordinating inventory, distribution, compliance, and reporting activities to ensure accurate and efficient movement of all NSLP commodity products.
Key Accountabilities
- Employee Engagement & Culture: Build and maintain relationships with state agencies, schools, and partners. Attend all software and informational training provided by the State.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain compliance with state and program requirements and participate in audits. Identifies problems and inefficiencies in the Program and make recommendations for revisiting and updating, as necessary.
- Operational & Financial Controls: Manage the flow, distribution, and reporting of school commodity products. Maintains monthly delivery schedule. Provides pallet counts and product storage needs to Transportation for outbound orders. Meets with Inventory and Transportation team regularly to recap and strategize processes. Reconcile distribution documentation and invoices for payment. Familiarity with generating invoices, distribution documentation, and reports using applicable systems (e.g., WBSCM, CERES).
- Leadership & Ethics: Demonstrate accountability, collaboration, and professionalism at all times to internal and external partners. Build trust with all internal and external stakeholders. Uphold the highest ethical standards and act in the best interest of all stakeholders.
Key Challenges
- Internal: Inventory audits. Reporting and reconciliation. Logistics coordination.
- External: Maintaining positive customer relationships. Ensuring schools are getting the correct product. Maintain training requirements for all school partners.
Required or Preferred Qualifications:
Core Competencies: Dedication to Customer Service. Possess a positive attitude with strong organizational skills. Detail-oriented. Knowledge of good record-keeping procedures and the ability to maintain accurate and legible records and current files. Knowledge of peripheral devices; ability to use standard office equipment. Proficient in all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); ability to learn CERES (Inventory Software).
Knowledge and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent such as but not limited to a GED is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred. At least 4 years of operations experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid Driver License.
Work Environment: The NSLP Coordinator will primarily work in an indoor office environment and will also require occasional monitoring in a warehouse setting or at an off-site location. You may also be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
