Job Title: Hardware Test Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Hardware Test Engineer to lead validation activities for new developments and perform sustaining activities for telecommunication products such as routers and switches. This role involves defining and developing test plans, conducting compliance testing, and leading efforts to solve problems to meet product standards. The engineer will also maintain accurate documentation of all actions necessary to achieve product certifications.
Responsibilities
- Drive validation testing for new hardware.
- Define and develop comprehensive test plans.
- Conduct compliance testing to ensure product standards are met.
- Lead problem-solving efforts to achieve product certifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all certification-related activities.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in hardware testing and validation.
- Experience with DVT (Design Verification Testing) and SONET.
- Experience with high-speed telecommunication hardware testing.
- Experience using hardware lab equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal analyzers.
- Strong understanding of testing signals, jitter, and related concepts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience performing physical layer testing for telecommunication hardware or similar embedded systems.
- Proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language for test automation.
Role is open to candidates with 1-3 internships OR 6 months-2 years of practical experience!
Work Environment
The work environment is onsite from Monday to Friday, in an engineering lab setting located in San Jose. There is flexibility with the start time, with some team members starting at 8 AM and others at 10 AM, maintaining an 8-hour workday. The team consists of 17 members, including 8 consultants, providing a collaborative and experienced work environment.

This is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
