Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 0630-1700 Experience: Minimum years of experience required, pediatric experience preferred License: Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for MRI Certification. Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: Pediatric experience Description: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The purpose of this role is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, and skills, provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services. Works in a variety of care settings, including acute inpatient facilities and outpatient physician practices. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. Identifies and implements actions necessary to achieve the clinical outcomes and operational goals. Utilizes a variety of highly specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques. Performs a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines. Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm completion of required elements and that technical quality meets established protocols. Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, and prepares studies for reporting. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance per regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies. Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to work with minimum supervision. Understands normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, as well as terminology associated with the primary specialty.
