Our commitment to innovation, safety, and excellence has established us as a key player in the aviation industry. Headquartered in the stunning city of Bend, Oregon, we offer a vibrant work environment surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. We're seeking talented and creative individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in the aerospace industry.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Liaison Engineering Team Lead to oversee our Liaison Engineering team within a fast-paced aviation manufacturing environment. This role serves as the critical link between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations, ensuring timely resolution of production issues while maintaining compliance with engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, experience working with quality systems and non-conformance processes, and a proactive leadership mindset. While aviation or aerospace experience is preferred, candidates from other highly regulated or complex manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the Liaison Engineering group. Typically, 6-10 team members.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for production-related engineering issues.
  • Serve as the primary engineering interface between Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams.
  • Review, investigate, and resolve manufacturing discrepancies, non-conformances, and production issues.
  • Support disposition of non-conforming material through established quality management processes.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to address recurring manufacturing and quality concerns.
  • Ensure engineering solutions maintain compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Prioritize and manage engineering workload to support production schedules and operational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and production-focused team culture.
  • Track key performance metrics and provide status updates to leadership

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting production operations and resolving manufacturing issues.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience tracking and resolving non-conformances, corrective actions, and root-cause investigations.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills between engineering and manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage priorities, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Desire and aptitude to lead a team, mentor others, and take ownership of team performance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
  • Knowledge of FAA, AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality and regulatory standards.
  • Experience with MRB (Material Review Board) processes.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing engineering, production support engineering, or liaison engineering functions.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

Desired Attributes

  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable making decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Natural collaborator who can build relationships across departments.
  • Motivated to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Able to balance technical problem-solving with people leadership.

BENEFITS AND CAREER GROWTH

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • On-the-job training and career advancement opportunities
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees
  • 50% employer-paid coverage for eligible dependents
  • Access to the Epic Aircraft Flying Club
  • Paid time off and 7 paid holidays per year
  • Paid holiday shutdown between Christmas and New Year's
  • Discretionary year-end bonus
  • 401(k) with a 3% company match
  • Performance-based pay increases
  • Collaborative team environment and company events
