Pipe/Drainage FormanThe Pipe/Drainage Forman is responsible for organizing and directing on-site crew work. This position ensures the crews are in compliance with the company's safety program and ensures that the work performed meets or exceeds the quality requirements of the client.This position works on various job sites in/around Ohio. Extended/overnight travel is required.Main Job Tasks & ResponsibilitiesCompletes necessary 2 week look-ahead to plan work with Superintendent(s)Understands and enforces company safety policiesConducts daily JSA to recognize safety hazards associated with the daily tasks and educates crews of hazardsProvides oversight direction to crews and/or subcontractorsPrepares schedules for needed manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractorsEnsures quality of work performed by crewsWorks with senior foremen and/or superintendents to complete short interval schedulesCompletes daily timesheets and field reportsEnsures crews are working at maximum efficiency during shift hours and leads by exampleInspects incoming materials for quality, accuracy, completeness, and contract complianceWorks as part of a team with management, supervision, safety, and other personnelOther tasks as assignedSkills & RequirementsWorking knowledge and experience with the following pipe/drainage components required:Storm/Sanitary/SewerCorrugated metalConcreteFirelineHDPE PipeTrench Boxes for deep excavationsDewateringBox CulvertsHeadwalls (cast in place and setting)Ability to test water line, sanitary, and manholesAbility to assist in camera inspectionUnderstands plans and specificationsKnowledge of safe construction methods and proceduresLeadership and management abilitiesBasic ability to construct (build)Working knowledge of grade checking and understanding of surveying informationGood written and verbal communication skillsGood organizational skillsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentVocational or construction management training a plus30 Hour OSHA certificationFirst aid/CPR certificationCompetent Person training5-8 years of experience in similar type constructionPrior crew and subcontractor management experiencePhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
