Location: Hudson County, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time | 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary: $15.92 per hour
We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and creative Recreation Aide to join our team. In this role, you will help plan and facilitate engaging recreational programs that enhance the physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, has a positive attitude, and is dedicated to creating meaningful experiences that enrich residents' lives.
Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs and activities.
Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities, including games, crafts, music, parties, and special events.
Observe, document, and report resident attendance, participation, mood, behavior, and progress.
Assist with resident assessments, care plans, and discharge planning related to recreational services.
Interview residents and family members to identify recreational interests and needs.
Coordinate recreational activities with other departments as needed.
Prepare activity areas and recreation rooms before scheduled events and clean up afterward.
Assist with field trips, community walks, and special outings.
Transport residents safely throughout the facility for scheduled activities.
Visit residents regularly to provide companionship, encouragement, and individualized activities.
Conduct one-on-one and group reality orientation and motivational sessions.
Assist residents with crafts, projects, correspondence, and in-room activities.
Maintain accurate and timely recreation documentation and progress notes.
Support quality assurance initiatives and participate in regulatory surveys as needed.
Monitor resident safety and well-being during all activities.
Assist with equipment setup, organization, and inventory management.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations, facility policies, and safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in recreation, activities, customer service, healthcare, or long-term care is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
