Accounting Manager Role
The Accounting Manager will serve as a hands-on leader responsible for supporting the monthly close process, reviewing accounting work, and helping ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role partners closely with accounting leadership and works alongside staff and senior accountants to manage deadlines, review deliverables, and provide coaching and guidance. While there are no direct reports, the position plays an important role in supporting team performance and maintaining accounting quality standards. The ideal candidate is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, diving into account activity, and helping solve challenges as they arise. This position offers significant exposure to leadership and the opportunity to contribute across a broad range of accounting functions.
Review financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting work prepared by team members
Support month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deliverables
Analyze general ledger activity and investigate account variances
Review and post journal entries as needed
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis
Monitor accounting timelines and help coordinate team deliverables
Partner with operational and finance stakeholders to resolve accounting issues
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to accounting staff and senior accountants
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Prior experience within a large, complex, or multi-entity accounting environment required
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual-based accounting
Experience managing month-end close processes and financial reporting activities
Advanced proficiency with Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis
Experience reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Experience with Workday is a plus
