The County of San Diego, Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) has immediate openings for: Certified Nurse Assistant. This position is eligible for appointment at step 3, $ 47,985.60 annually. County employees are subject to the County Promotion Rule for Step Placement in Accordance with the Compensation Ordinance 1.3.5. Interviews Will Be Conducted on an Ongoing Basis. Certified Nurse Assistant positions work under the supervision of registered nurses (RN's) or licensed vocational nurses (LVN's) to assist with patient care including bathing and feeding, maintaining supplies in a clean and orderly manner, and guiding patients through daily routines. Duties also include: assists with handling confused, agitated, disturbed or combative patients; observes patient behavior and, as needed, reports observations to professional staff; records observations and documents the patient's condition and progress in the patient's medical record; and assists other staff in setting up and directing recreational activities for patients.

The San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital (SDCPH) is a Joint Commission Accredited, publicly funded, free-standing 24-hour psychiatric hospital. It is a locked facility and a component of the San Diego County Behavioral Health Services' continuum of care. The mission of the Hospital is to provide psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention-oriented acute treatment for adult residents of San Diego County. The goal of the Hospital is to stabilize patients' behavioral health crisis and move ahead to a less restrictive level of care. Certified Nurse Assistants at the Psychiatric Hospital are assigned to one of two shifts: Morning (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) or Night (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
