Job description
Job Title Surgical Technologist, CVOR Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in Boston, Massachusetts. This role involves working within a dynamic surgical environment, primarily supporting complex cardiovascular procedures. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring optimal patient outcomes by maintaining a sterile field, anticipating surgical team needs, and facilitating efficient surgical flow for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular interventions at a leading medical facility. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain the sterile operating room environment for cardiovascular surgical procedures. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, by providing instruments, supplies, and equipment as required. Assist with draping and positioning of patients, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process. Maintain an organized and sterile instrument table, ensuring all instruments and supplies are accounted for before, during, and after surgery. Handle specimens accurately and according to facility protocols. Adhere strictly to aseptic technique and infection control policies. Assist in the turnover of operating rooms between cases. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting. Accreditation as a Surgical Technologist. Preferred Qualifications Not specified. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance. Expertise in handling and identifying a wide range of surgical instruments and equipment specific to cardiovascular procedures. Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures related to the cardiovascular system. Ability to anticipate surgeon's needs and react quickly in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Shift Details Shift Type: AM Shift Duration: 12 hours Days per Week: 3 Total Hours per Week: 36 Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: August 9, 2026 End Date: November 8, 2026 Call Requirements: Not specified. Weekend Rotation: Not specified. Licensing Requirements Active Surgical Technologist license or accreditation in the state of Massachusetts. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred or required by facility. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
