TheDirector, LabOperationsis responsible forthe day to daytechnical and scientificoperation of the laboratoryandother dutiesas delegated by the Medical Director. The position providesfor the overall operation, leadership, direction, and administration of the Clinical Laboratoriesin accordance withfederal and state regulations governing clinical laboratories.This position reports to theVP,Lab Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establishes operational and strategicobjectivesand work plans for the clinical laboratory

• Develops,monitorsand utilizesdata to evaluate and drive operational and business decisions

• Manages laboratory operations within the budget with financial goal improvement through cost savings initiatives and improved productivity

• Standardizes andconsolidatespolicy and procedure forservices as needed at all lab sites

• Facilitates coordination ofcommunication between all departments andacrossshifts

• Ensures teammatescompetencies inperforming,recordingand reportingtest results accurately,promptlyand proficiently assuring compliance with applicable regulations

• Ensuresquality control and quality assurance programs areestablishedand maintained to assure the quality of laboratory services provided

• Overseescompliance with DaVita policy and proceduresin accordance withfederal,stateand local regulations

• Ensures good customer relations for both internal and external clients, following up on problems providingtimelyresolution

• Delivers status reports to administrationmonitoringdaily operations and project updates

• Oversees the development of the laboratory service line's plans and programs in evaluation of long-range planning for internal and external business line opportunities

• Providesleadership to direct reports:

• Help direct reports overcome any organizational obstacles encountered

• Know, understand, implement, follow, and communicate to teammates DaVita employment policies and procedures, awards, and other opportunities within company and foster a positive work environment

• Facilitate teammate development (PDRs, coaching, mentoring, DaVita training, outside training); collaborate with direct reports to create professional development goals

• Monitorsworkflowsand delegatesresponsibilities to team members,assistsin scheduling personnel and time-keeping functions;

• Managesall teammate employment activity such as hiring, promoting, job performance, evaluations, and disciplinary actions withappropriate approvalsasrequired;

• Plans,organizesand supervisesteammates to ensurehigh qualityteammate customer service:

• Provide work direction for department teammates

• Determinestaffing plans that promote the most effective use of all teammates ensure coverage during teammate absences

• Maintainsteammate records to include written performance evaluation of all staff records to be kept in compliance with DaVita policy and any applicable laws:

• Ensureaccurate,timelyprocessing ofWorkday tasks

• Evaluate, record and process teammate reviews and compensation according to company policy and intimelymanner

• Review and approvetime cardsof teammates asrequiredfor payroll

• Knows, understands, follows, and implementsbasic wage and hour laws, federal,stateand local laws and regulations, Medicare, and legislation affecting employment

• Developsand conductseducational programs to keep teammatesup-to-dateon DaVita policies, new laws and regulationsimpactingwork, and other information necessary to provide knowledgeable,accuratework output

• Maintainsfamiliarity with and communicate to teammates DaVita programsimpactingteammates including but not limited to Triple Crown

• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technologyor related sciencesrequired; Advance degree (MBA, MPH, MHA) highly preferred

• Medical Technologistapproved registryrequired

• Minimum ofeight (8)years laboratory managementexperienceofsimilar sizeand scoperequired; Ten (10) years highly preferred

• Intermediate computer skills andproficiencyin MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, andOutlook
