The Senior Manager of Platform Engineering - Compute and Operating Systems is responsible for steering both technical direction and team growth within enterprise compute platforms, including Linux, Windows, Kubernetes, and containerized environments. This position plays a key role in designing, securing, and modernizing operating systems and compute platforms, leading a dynamic organization of platform engineers and managers.Key Responsibilities:Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of enterprise compute and operating system platforms such as Linux, Windows, Kubernetes, and hybrid environments.Provide hands-on technical leadership for platform engineering initiatives, ensuring adherence to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles and modern automation practices.Manage and develop a robust platform engineering team of approximately 20-30 members, including managers and senior engineers.Oversee various managers and foster a scalable, growth-oriented team structure.Take ownership of operating system lifecycle management, covering provisioning, configuration, patching, hardening, and decommissioning.Drive security best practices and systems hardening in collaboration with security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.Lead the Kubernetes platform strategy including cluster design, operations, reliability, and integration with application teams.Support and modernize compute platforms across a diverse landscape incorporating containerized workloads, traditional operating systems, and iSeries environments.Document complex
