Position Type:Secretarial/Clerical/School TreasurerDate Posted:3/5/2026Location:Southwest MiddleClosing Date:Open Until FilledPOSITION TITLE:School Treasurer - MiddleREPORTS TO:PrincipalBEGINNING DATE:Open Until FilledKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff and the publicConsiderable knowledge of and ability to use grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuationConsiderable knowledge of office practices and proceduresAbility to keyboard with accuracy and speedAbility to compile and summarize informationAbility to prioritize and schedule variable workWorking knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principlesTECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:Windows-based computer, electronic calculator, electronic typewriter, photocopier, fax machineEDUCATION AND TRAINING:High school graduate and two (2) years of related clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experienceTERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 monthsSALARY: Salary Grade 59 (Office Support III)FLSA Status: Non-ExemptPERFORMANCE Responsibilities:Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions of the school using computerized accounting program. (Receipt all monies, check invoices, pay all bills, reconcile bank statements, make bank deposits, etc.)Submit payroll data to the central office for all employees including attendance and substitutes.Complete necessary reports for school administration, i.e. fire drill, property change, sales tax, principal's month ly report, sanitation, etc.Secure substitute teachers for teacher absences.Assist with purchases of supplies for school and office.Handle administrative correspondence for the school.File student insurance claims.Perform other duties, as necessary, to assist with school administration.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.Ability to reach with hands and arms routinely.Ability to bend, stoop, carry, push, or pull.Ability to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materials.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionally.Must be able to facilitate the evacuation of students in emergency situations and/or drills.Must be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and students.Must be able to drive to variety of locations necessary to conduct school business.Must be able to tolerate a noisy, busy work environment with occasional very loud noises.The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
