Main responsibilities:

Position Purpose

Assists the Home Shopping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Home Shopping Department, including online order fulfillment, customer service, associate supervision, productivity, accuracy, and operational execution. Supports the department in delivering a seamless omnichannel shopping experience while meeting sales, service, and performance goals. The Assistant Home Shopping Manager assumes leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Home Shopping Manager.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development

• Assist in supervising, training, coaching, and developing Home Shopping associates.
• Promote a culture of customer service, teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Assist with scheduling and labor planning to support order volume and business needs.
• Monitor associate productivity and provide coaching to improve performance and efficiency.
• Serve as department leader when the Home Shopping Manager is unavailable.

Customer Service

• Ensure customers receive accurate, high-quality orders and exceptional service.
• Assist in resolving customer concerns, substitutions, delivery issues, and order discrepancies.
• Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and implement service improvements when needed.
• Foster positive customer interactions and effective communication.

Order Fulfillment & Operations

• Support the execution of all online order fulfillment processes.
• Monitor order picking, staging, packing, and delivery preparation to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure order accuracy and quality standards are consistently maintained.
• Assist in coordinating workloads and staffing to meet demand during peak periods.
• Help maintain operational readiness and workflow efficiency throughout the department.

Performance & Productivity

• Monitor department productivity metrics, order completion rates, and service levels.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce delays.
• Assist with implementing company initiatives, process improvements, and technology enhancements.
• Ensure department goals and key performance indicators are achieved.

Inventory & Quality Control

• Work closely with store departments to ensure product availability and accurate substitutions.
• Monitor out-of-stock conditions and communicate inventory concerns.
• Verify product quality, freshness, and presentation prior to order completion.
• Support inventory accuracy and shrink reduction initiatives.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all company policies, food safety requirements, and operational standards.
• Maintain safe working conditions and promote proper lifting, handling, and equipment usage.
• Ensure associates follow all applicable procedures related to customer data and order processing.
• Assist with department audits and operational reviews.

Financial & Business Performance

• Support achievement of department sales and profitability goals.
• Monitor labor expenses and assist with effective scheduling practices.
• Help identify opportunities to grow online sales and customer adoption.
• Support promotional events, seasonal initiatives, and digital commerce programs.
