Position Summary: Safely transport YMCA vehicles, trailers, and equipment to offsite locations, providing safe transportation for program participants when needed. When not driving: Implement STEM curriculum at assigned locations as directed introducing youth from all backgrounds to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) experiences; meeting the needs of our diverse community. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Travels to assigned locations to implement STEM curriculum on-site at designated YMCA of Snohomish County locations. Drive safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws Ensure occupants, belongings and YMCA vehicle and trailer contents are adequately secured at all times Perform and record all checklist and maintenance responsibilities as required using approved forms including self-audits to ensure compliance with YMCA of Snohomish County safety requirements Ensure first aid, safety and emergency supplies are fully stocked at all times with documentation of inventory and immediate replacement of missing supplies Ensure that bus rules are posted, announced and followed Create and follow route planning and directions Focus on facilitation practices that encourage gender equitable practices and promote inclusivity in STEM Ensure and provide upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensure all safety standards are met Maintain relationships with community partners and positively represent the Y while out in the community Maintain compliance with proper DCYF and YMCA trainings Ensure clear and effective communication between site staff and the STEM Manager Periodically meet with STEM Team to ensure STEM continuum and sustainability Periodically complete quality assessments for STEM facilitation, programs, and activities. Ensure compliance with state and local regulations in addition to YMCA program standards and procedures Maintain proper records, statistics and department files Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Minimum age 21 One or more years related experience planning and facilitating STEM activities with youth in a developmentally appropriate group setting. Pre-employment current driver abstract (available online through Dept. of licensing) and drug screening required Minimum three years driving experience with clean driving record Possess appropriate license with knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles Have a high school diploma or equivalent Provide document of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, other required vaccinations, and portable background check Ability to travel to YMCA site locations and community organizations. Organize and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming. Physical Demands: As directed, lead and participate in a range of activities in indoor/outdoor settings.
