Job description

EH&S Manager

Tract is a team of digital infrastructure experts dedicated to accelerating responsible data center growth by developing master-planned data center parks with access to pre-positioned power and fiber in key markets where hyperscale and wholesale demand is going. Our approach is collaborative with cities and counties to ensure development is targeted for the optimal locations to maximize the revenue and economic development benefits for the community while being good stewards of the land and minimizing the impact on neighbors. Tract is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with real estate holdings throughout the United States.

As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled EH&S Manager who possesses expertise in managing safety for large-scale civil infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will join our growing team and facilitate successful developments throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of post-education experience in environmental health and safety management of commercial/industrial land development projects.

Position Overview:

The EHS Manager is responsible for implementing and sustaining Tract's environmental, health, and safety programs at assigned project sites in Texas, with a focus on construction activities and contractor management. This role works day-to-day in the field to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Tract's EHS Manual.

  • Serve as the primary onsite EHS representative for Tract at assigned Texas project sites, championing Tract's zero-incident culture
  • Implement and monitor compliance with Tract's EHS Manual and applicable OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations
  • Review and provide feedback on contractor Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure alignment with Tract expectations and project scope
  • Conduct regular site inspections and documented audits focused on high-risk activities (earthwork, deep excavations, mobile equipment, cranes/lifting, work at height, electrical, confined space, etc.)
  • Track and drive closure of EHS observations, non-conformances, and corrective actions with contractors and Tract field teams
  • Lead or support investigations of incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive action plans
  • Ensure timely incident reporting and case management updates in accordance with Tract's EHS procedures
  • Facilitate and/or support daily and weekly safety meetings (pre-task plans, toolbox talks, stand-downs) and communicate lessons learned across the site
  • Support environmental compliance for construction activities (e.g., stormwater controls, waste management, spill prevention) and escalate issues as needed
  • Partner with Construction, Engineering, Operations, and the broader EHS team to identify high-energy hazards early in planning and implement effective controls
  • Deliver or coordinate EHS training and onboarding for contractors and Tract personnel on Tract standards, hazard recognition, and high-energy control expectations
  • Contribute EHS data and insights (leading/lagging indicators, trends, observations) to support reporting and continuous improvement across the EHS team and project leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, health sciences, engineering, construction management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in environmental, health, and safety roles supporting construction, heavy civil, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Hands-on experience implementing EHS programs on active construction sites, including conducting field inspections, developing or reviewing JHAs, and supporting incident investigations
  • Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and relevant environmental requirements (e.g., stormwater, waste, spill prevention)
  • Experience supporting or managing contractor EHS performance, including plan reviews, audits, and corrective action follow-up
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with construction managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and EHS professionals on fast-paced projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data center, heavy civil, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects
  • Professional certifications such as CHST, CSP, OHST, COSS, or equivalent
  • Experience with high-energy hazard management frameworks or serious-injury/fatality (SIF/PSIF) prevention programs

Required Traits and Skills:

  • Responsible, ethical, and collaborative mindset with a can-do attitude, pride in work product, and appreciation of the value of communicating, brainstorming and sharing information
  • Passionate about the data center industry and keeping up with current industry trends
  • Enthusiastic problem solver who enjoys widely varied challenges
  • Self-starter who can take the lead on complex projects, work under pressure, deal with multiple deadlines, and work with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented to support data-driven analysis and decision-making
  • Strong written communication skills including internal reports / memos and verbal communication skills including presentations to senior leaders and board members
  • Eagerness to be a part of building something unique, special, and valuable in a dynamic environment with a top-notch team

Location: This position is full-time, on-site in Texas with occasional travel to our headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

Expected Salary Range: $105,000-$125,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus
