Job description

Technical Program Manager, EHS Construction

A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Embed Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements into the Front End Planning (FeP), Pre-Construction and third-party Construction workflow, ensuring that safety and environmental compliance are core drivers of project readiness and speed of delivery.
  • Establish global EHS standards for master planning and schematic design across all applicable Data Center envelopes, ensuring consistent risk mitigation from the earliest conceptual stages.
  • Partner with all Construction team members to define and implement scalable compliance frameworks that address complex regulatory landscapes for all project portfolios.
  • Architect and implement standardized EHS support models across the various project portfolios, clarifying roles and responsibilities between Google, developers, and third-party vendors.
  • Lead high-level EHS risk evaluation during planning phases to proactively identify and mitigate catastrophic risks (e.g., environmental hazards, utility constraints) before project kick-off, ensuring the proper EHS resourcing is allocated.

Google is proud to be an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. We are committed to building a workforce that is representative of the users we serve, creating a culture of belonging, and providing an equal employment opportunity regardless of race, creed, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding), expecting or parents-to-be, criminal histories consistent with legal requirements, or any other basis protected by law.
