Job description
Data Scientist (Hybrid) Primary Location: Knoxville, Tennessee V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Data Scientist for our premier client in Knoxville, Tennessee. Education and Experience » 5+ years of experience in data analytics/data science. 5+ years in SQL and experience working with relational databases. 3+ years of Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, etc.). 3+ years building dashboards and visualizations using Tableau. Demonstrated experience in strategic data modeling and analysis. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences. Experience analyzing workforce data, contractor spend, or operational metrics. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with machine learning models and predictive analytics. Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities » Top Tasks: Data Analysis: Analyzing technology org health/tech operations analytics. Data Science: Creating actionable insights from data. Stakeholder Management: presenting to Sr. technology leaders. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Job Responsibilities: Strategic Modeling & Analysis: Design and implement data models to support tech-specific strategic initiatives. Perform advanced analytics on contractor spend, workforce trends, and operational metrics. Deliver insights that influence executive-level decisions. Data Visualization & Reporting: Develop and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau for TechOps stakeholders. Enhance reporting on internal survey data (e.g., Officevibe) to deliver deeper organizational insights. Present findings in a clear, concise, and impactful manner to senior leadership. Data Management & Engineering Collaboration: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. Support data pipeline improvements and scalable analytics solutions. Machine Learning & Advanced Analytics: Apply machine learning techniques where applicable to improve forecasting, segmentation, and predictive insights. Use Python (preferred) for data manipulation, modeling, and automation. Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with TechOps, Finance, and HR teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. Demonstrate executive presence and strong communication skills when presenting to leadership. Interested?
