Cath Lab Technologist Job Description Job Title Cath Lab Technologist Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment at Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is integral to a specialized cardiac catheterization laboratory, focusing on advanced cardiovascular procedures. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and procedural efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment dedicated to cardiovascular excellence. Key Responsibilities Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including angioplasty, stenting, and pacemaker/ICD insertions. Operate and maintain specialized Cath Lab equipment, including fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). Prepare the sterile field and ensure adherence to strict aseptic techniques throughout procedures. Monitor patient vital signs, EKG, and hemodynamic parameters during procedures, recognizing and reporting changes to the medical team. Provide pre- and post-procedure patient care, including patient education and recovery monitoring. Document all aspects of patient care and procedural details accurately in the electronic health record. Participate in on-call rotations as required. Required Qualifications Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field. Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Cath Lab Technologist. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Preferred Qualifications Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification. Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification. Experience with a variety of interventional cardiology procedures. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation. Expertise in sterile technique and infection control protocols. Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Ability to operate and troubleshoot Cath Lab imaging and monitoring equipment. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
