Salary Range: $150,000 – $250,000 (Base)
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team in San Francisco. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native solutions that enable reliable software delivery. You will work closely with software engineers and infrastructure teams to improve deployment efficiency, system reliability, and operational excellence.
This role is ideal for engineers passionate about automation, cloud infrastructure, and building highly available systems.
Requirements
What You’ll Do Architect and build the initial product and core infrastructure end-to-end Make key decisions on tech stack, system design, and deployment strategy Ship high-quality features rapidly while maintaining strong engineering standards Design scalable backend systems, APIs, and data models Build performant, polished frontend experiences (if full-stack) Establish CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and security best practices Collaborate closely with founders on product direction and roadmap Recruit and mentor early engineering hires Help define engineering culture, processes, and standards What We’re Looking For 5–10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience Prior experience at a startup or as an early engineer (0 → 1 experience strongly preferred) Strong system design fundamentals and ability to build scalable architectures Proficiency in modern backend frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go, or similar) Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) Solid understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), caching, and distributed systems Product-minded — you care deeply about user experience and business impact Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguity High ownership mindset and strong execution bias
