Therapy Services Manager

Overview of Position: Responsible for overseeing and driving the operational and financial performance of therapy services across multiple locations for both/either of internal or TPN within a designated region. Leads and manages the Therapy Services Supervisors, Clinical Standard Directors, and Therapy Network Administration. To ensure the delivery of high-quality care, compliance with regulatory standards, and the achievement of organizational goals. Directs the team who coordinates therapy services, program planning, and implementation of policies and procedures. Provides clinical supervision and work direction to therapists and administrative staff, including training/skills enhancement, clinical consultation, and professional development.

Essential Function:

  • Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates program elements relating to the delivery of services for the Therapy Services programs. Ensures Therapy Supervisors meet productivity requirements and provide efficient and effective service in all areas of performance. Leads the interdisciplinary team. Functions as liaison between the organization, families, and other community agencies including regional centers, school programs, therapists, and health care providers.
  • When necessary, oversees the Therapy Provider Network including onboarding and exiting of providers, clinical quality reviews and service audits, contract negotiations and communications. Oversees the clinical and administrative associates who work with the Therapy Provider Network.
  • Supports budget development, ensures productivity, project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets; ensures budget accountability with the therapy team. Manages resources, monitors and provides input into the billing process, reviews financial statements, and ensures that business processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Reports results to higher level management.
  • Attends/leads Therapy Services Leadership staff meetings. Ensures staff responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities are defined and understood. Manages and evaluates performance of team members. In conjunction with the Chief Clinical Officer and Human Resources, participates in recruitment and hiring of direct reports.
  • Monitors the preparation of documents required by agencies and funders; prepares reports and correspondences; responds to inquiries from outside agencies and makes presentations to support autism services activities as required. Represents and/or presents the organization at various professional, governmental and public meetings concerning the services provided through the autism services program.
  • Interprets and implements policies and procedures and provides training to designated department associates including, but not limited to, curriculum implementation, safety program, and emergency and health issues.
  • Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, special education and related fields.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

Master's degree from an accredited program in speech-language pathology, physical or occupational therapy. Current speech-language pathologist, Board of Occupational Therapy and/or Physical Therapy license issued by the state of California. Must possess and maintain a current CPR certification.

Experience:

  • 5 years progressive experience working with children with disabilities, including autism; in which 3 years is management/supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Experience working with children with special needs in the field of early intervention preferred.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and implement therapy services programs.
  • Excellent clinical, administrative, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups. Must relate well to children and their families and maintain positive affect.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Able to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and other related computer software.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
  • Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • Ability to travel locally throughout Southern California; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.

Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer monitor and read newsprint. Travel: Up to 50% of time Environmental Exposure: May be exposed to unpleasant or hazardous working conditions (noise, heat, dust, bodily fluids, etc.)
