Accounts Receivable Manager
The Accounts Receivable Manager oversees the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable Office, serving as the operational lead for staff supervision, workflow coordination, and student account administration. This role ensures accurate, efficient, and student-centered services while supporting compliance, resolving complex account matters, and collaborating with campus partners to promote student success and effective business operations.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support Accounts Receivable staff by coordinating daily operations, monitoring performance, and fostering a collaborative, service-oriented team culture
- Oversee student account functions including billing, payments, refunds, receivables, payment plans, third-party billing, and collection activities
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex student and parent account concerns, ensuring timely and professional resolution
- Review account discrepancies, reconciliations, billing, and exception reports to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support system functionality and process improvements related to student accounts, including Jenzabar and Transact
- Collaborate with campus partners such as Financial Aid, Registrar, and Finance to support effective and compliant operations
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 35 years of progressively responsible experience in student accounts, finance, accounting, or higher education business operations
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Strong understanding of billing, receivables, reconciliations, and customer account management
- Experience with Jenzabar and Transact systems preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, reporting, and data analysis
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism, sound judgment, and strict confidentiality in compliance with FERPA
