The Web and Digital Marketing Specialist maintains the Crown Family School's digital presence across web, social, and multimedia platforms. This position helps advance the School's reputation, strengthening brand awareness, and supporting enrollment and philanthropic goals by developing and executing integrated digital strategies. The Specialist maintains web content, produces social media content, engages in multimedia production, tracks analytics, and manages projects, ensuring accessibility, consistency, and innovation across all digital channels. Serving as the primary digital expert, the role provides hands-on support, training and collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver a dynamic, engaging, and user-centered digital experience for prospective and current students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community partners.

Responsibilities include:
- Producing digital content leveraging innovative methods and design, ensuring accessibility and universal design standards.
- Carrying out video and photography projects, including concept development, shot lists, filming, editing, and alignment with brand identity.
- Advancing the School's digital presence by producing and collaborating on digital content for prospective and current students, alumni, community partners, and new audiences.
- Compiling digital metrics reporting and analytics to evaluate performance, ensure quality, and optimize engagement.
- Ensuring visual and voice consistency across all digital media channels.
- Partnering with stakeholders to develop ideas and campaigns that drive inbound traffic and paid/organic engagement.
- Recommending and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy that grows and engages the School's audiences.
- Managing day-to-day content calendars and directly maintaining flagship channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube).
- Creating and implementing integrated content strategies that reflect institutional priorities and increase brand visibility.
- Continuously assessing social performance to refine approaches for audience growth and impact.
- Serving as primary hands-on content manager and administrator of the Crown Family School website, ensuring accessibility standards are met.
- Supporting improvements to site architecture, navigation, interface design, and visual branding in alignment with UChicago standards.
- Training and supporting faculty, staff, and students in web content practices and ensuring a positive user experience.
- Regularly updating and maintaining key pages to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with institutional goals.
- Leveraging SEO tools and analytics to optimize site visibility and performance.
- Managing and executing CMS workflows and providing technical expertise to ensure site functionality.
- Establishing and tracking performance goals and KPIs across digital platforms, providing actionable insights for leadership.
- Monitoring and reporting on SEO performance, site health, and conversion effectiveness.
- Maintaining a universal marketing and communications project calendar and managing project management workflow tools to ensure timely delivery.
- Providing recommendations to optimize digital campaigns, improve accessibility, and strengthen audience engagement.
- Planning, developing and disseminating information designed to keep the public informed of the organization's programs, accomplishments, or point of view, with moderate levels of guidance and direction.
- Accomplishing assigned duties through two or more of the following: written communications; visual/graphic media, which may include Web site development and maintenance; avenues of digital communications and social media. The incumbent is still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
- Solving a range of straightforward problems, as work assignments are difficult and broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. Managing digital and social media assets (including routine website maintenance); compiles and analyzes relevant metrics based on established strategic goals.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum qualifications include a college or university degree in a related field and 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in marketing, digital communications, design, UX, public relations, data analytics, or a related field, and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in digital marketing, web management, or multimedia communications for a complex organization - preferably in higher education, non-profit, or mission-driven environments.
