About the Role

The U.S. branch of a major Korean conglomerate is hiring a Steel Sales Associate to develop new business in the steel industry and support the company's expansion into broader industrial sectors. The company focuses on international trading and distribution, with strength in steel products and additional business areas including petrochemical, energy-related products, biofuel, and new business development. This is an onsite role based in Cerritos, CA. We are looking for a results-driven, self-motivated sales professional who can independently develop new accounts and grow business in a new branch office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new accounts and business in the steel industry.
  
• Support expansion into broader industrial sectors, including energy, oil and gas, EPC projects, and infrastructure-related business (Houston market).
  
• Manage customer relationships, negotiations, and the full sales process.
  
• Support trading, import/export, and distribution activities.
  
• Work independently to develop new markets in a new branch office environment.
  
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  

Required Qualifications

• Fluent English (top priority); strong English communication is essential.
  
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
  
• Ability to work independently in a new branch office environment.
  
• Highly motivated, responsible, detail-oriented, and willing to develop new markets.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven sales track record, including a history of meeting targets and developing new accounts.
  
• Experience in steel sales, trading, import/export, steel distribution, service center business, energy-related business, or industrial sales (1-5 years preferred, not strictly limited to this range).
  
• Korean language ability (strongly preferred). The candidate does not need to be Korean.

• Salary: starting from $70,000+, depending on experience and qualifications.
