Job Description:

  • Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Database Engineer to support enterprise database environments through database engineering, systems administration, and automation.
  • This role is responsible for maintaining high availability, improving performance, and supporting mission-critical operational systems.

Duties:

  • Design, develop, administer, and maintain enterprise database management systems.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance solutions.
  • Implement database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
  • Develop automation solutions using Ansible and UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
  • Perform Linux and Windows server patching and system maintenance activities.
  • Support database operations, troubleshooting, and continuous system improvement initiatives.

Qualifications Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of related experience, Master's degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
  • Experience administering enterprise database environments and SQL performance tuning.
  • Strong experience with UNIX/Linux shell scripting and automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating system administration and patch management.
  • Experience supporting database replication, backup, and recovery operations.
