Job description

Director Of Women's Philanthropy

The director of women's philanthropy is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the women's philanthropy campaign including the development of goals and objectives, facilitating the expansion of dollars raised, increasing the donor base, enhancing volunteer and leadership engagement, optimizing events and programs, and identifying new areas of opportunity.

The director establishes and maintains successful relationships with donors and companies, and manages select campaign events, and other campaign operations, which may include oversight of additional events, campaign projections, leadership development, outreach activities, and handling additional logistics of the operation of the annual campaign.

The director will work closely with a council of committed and dedicated volunteer lay leaders to plan and implement social programs, leadership development opportunities, and women's philanthropy campaign events. Women in our community make up nearly half of Jewish Nevada's campaign total dollars. The director will be responsible for cultivating relationships with potential donors and securing campaign commitments from women in our community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a women's campaign operating plan that establishes objectives and goals related to programming, fundraising, and operational activities.
  • Serve as the primary support to the volunteer chair of women's philanthropy as well as the rest of the volunteer WP council.
  • Identify, educate, and motivate volunteers to actively participate in campaign and women's philanthropy activities and provide the bridge between women's philanthropy and the rest of federation programming.
  • As a function of the development department, you will own approximately 10-15% of annual campaign giving ranging $5,000-$9,999.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with women in the community with the goal of engaging them in federation programming and ultimately soliciting a campaign commitment from them.
  • Plan and execute multiple women's fundraising events including but not limited lion of judah, pomegranate, and united.
  • Plan and execute all WP council and community activities and events, including but not limited to council meetings, council retreat, installation, outreach (3-4 per year), mitzvah projects, and more.
  • Maintains effective communication with the national system and other non-profits regarding trends in women's philanthropy.
  • Women's philanthropy marketing including but not limited to email blasts, social media, and website.
  • Work with a graphic designer to create event invitations and flyers for all above listed programs
  • Travel domestically and internationally with Nevada women on various missions
  • Monitors budgets for the women's philanthropy department.
  • Works in partnership with development colleagues and other departments of the federation to support the financial resource development model to maximize fundraising efforts in the annual campaign, planned to give and endowment, supplemental giving, and corporate philanthropy.

A bachelor's degree is required. Five to seven years of relevant experience is required. A successful track record with personal solicitation or sales experience is required. Previous experience with fundraising or customer databases and social media is required. Ability to articulate a clear and understandable vision is required. A proven record of success in fundraising or sales, relationship building, event management, donor recruitment, and development is required. Understanding the complexity of the volunteer/professional relationship and success in managing those relationships effectively and professionally is required. Effective at forging strong interpersonal alliances at all levels both within and outside the organization is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Good judgment and the highest level of integrity are required. Event planning experience is preferred. Able to problem-solve and manage complex and sensitive issues with tact and great skill is required.

A flexible, hybrid work environment that recognizes when evening/weekend hours are worked. Salary range of $70-75,000, depending on experience. Dental, eye, and medical insurance plans offered.
