Job description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Phoenix, AZ Employment Type: 6-12 Month Contract (Opportunity for Permanent Hire) Industry: Transportation Manufacturing Compensation: $25/hr + 10% shift differential Schedule: 3rd Shift will be the core shift (Must be flexible to work other shifts during training period, which could last a few months)- 40 hours per week (Monday-Sunday schedule; 5 days per week with rotating days off) -Optional overtime available-Shift Options:-1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM-2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM-3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM About the Opportunity: Join a high-impact transportation manufacturing environment where your technical expertise directly supports the safety, reliability, and performance of a train system. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, guideway equipment, switches, platform doors, and related subsystems. What You'll Do:* Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures * Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on train vehicles and wayside subsystems, including guideways, switches, and platform doors * Repair or replace defective parts using schematics, blueprints, manuals, and technical documentation * Respond to system failures and assist with vehicle recovery to restore operations * Support emergency response activities, including assisting passengers when required * Conduct detailed preventive maintenance inspections and adjustments on vehicles and subsystems * Collaborate with senior technicians while developing independent troubleshooting skills * Maintain and achieve required certifications through ongoing training and development * Follow established maintenance procedures while exercising sound technical judgment in the field * Contribute to system reliability, safety, and overall operational performance This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on electrical and mechanical work, problem-solving complex equipment issues, and continuously developing technical skills through structured training and certification programs.
