GENERAL JOB DUTIES The Employment Specialist will assist individuals with disabilities in locating and maintaining competitive, integrated employment. Engage in business development designed to establish business partnerships for the promotion of employment of people with disabilities. Assist with outreach with schools, families, and businesses. Provide direct services and support to individuals on job sites, with the goal of assisting the employee with a disability in achieving independence in their employment. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Provide job site training assistance to individuals supported in community-based jobs. Make and maintain contact with area businesses, employment agencies and other available community resources for the purpose of placement opportunities in the area for employment opportunities.Market Kreiders community program to potential employers. Maintain a record of contacts, placement openings, person referred, and action taken. Promote individual accommodations, modifications, accessibility, and integration.Assist with making presentations to organizations and businesses as requested.Assist individuals with job development by guiding them throughout both in-person and online job search activities such as job applications, interviewing and the stages of the hiring process. Support may also involve setting up email accounts, uploading resumes, and tracking application statuses.Ensure placements of individuals in a variety of settings.Maintain contact with sites regarding the progress of placements and satisfaction with the program. Write a task analysis on the duties the individual supported is to do and train the individual supported on the site, provide support, retraining and follow-up support as needed.Assist in the development of natural supports within the work environment.Maintain communication with businesses, families, and internal departments.Coordinate transportation, train individuals on obtaining transportation, and when necessary, provide transportation. Submit billing documentation monthly as required.Assist in implementation and monitoring requirements for Division of Rehabilitation Services contracts and/or employment grants. Document in writing all contacts and meetings.Maintain open communication with the Supervisor, keeping them informed of significant, relevant information and meeting as requested. Adhere to all agency policies and procedures. ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES Other duties as assigned.Participate in assigned trainings and State-wide meetings.Attend all required meetings, committees, and staffing. Document in Quantum all contacts, interventions, staffings, and meetings. Dress appropriately for the duties scheduled for the employment site and adhere to business rules.
