Still with us? Cool. Let's talk about where you'd fit in: We are looking for a Roving HVAC Maintenance Technician to support our Wichita-area portfolio. Position Overview This is not a basic maintenance position. We are looking for a strong HVAC technician who can move between communities and be the go-to person for diagnosing problems, handling repairs, and supporting site teams when HVAC issues get beyond the basics. This role is best for someone who is confident working independently, takes pride in doing things the right way, and can handle a mix of HVAC service, installation support, troubleshooting, and general maintenance across multiple properties. What You'll Do Travel between Wichita-area communities based on business needs Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including no-cool, no-heat, airflow, refrigerant, electrical, and control-related issues Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to manufacturer standards Support system replacements, installs, and change-outs when needed Assist with troubleshooting across other building systems including appliances, plumbing, and electrical Support work orders, make-readies, and maintenance priorities at assigned properties Help ensure communities stay safe, operational, and resident-ready Communicate clearly with supervisors, property teams, and vendors Document work completed, parts needed, and follow-up items accurately Participate in on-call rotation when assigned to a community for an extended period What We're Looking For Strong hands-on HVAC experience Ability to troubleshoot systems independently with minimal oversight Experience with refrigerant recovery, charging, electrical diagnosis, and HVAC components Experience with installations, change-outs, brazing, and system startup preferred Background in apartment maintenance, residential service, commercial service, or a related field Comfortable working across multiple sites and changing priorities Strong work ethic, accountability, and follow-through Good communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications EPA Certification HVAC trade school or technical training Experience in multifamily maintenance Experience with heat pumps, furnaces, condensers, air handlers, package units, and rooftop units Pool experience is a plus, but not required Requirements Valid driver's license Reliable transportation and insurance High school diploma or equivalent Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and work in indoor and outdoor conditions Why This Role Stands Out On-call Bonus Variety in your work week Autonomy and trust in the field Opportunity to be the HVAC problem-solver across multiple communities Family-owned company with a growing portfolio Strong impact on operations and resident satisfaction
