The Opportunity With McKinstry

We are adding an Electrical Project Engineer to our growing Electrical team in Spokane, WA. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy project design and customer requirements, and are passionate about solving problems and achieving goals- this may be the right position for you!

  • Assist with the Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement process along with tracking current and future jobs, reviewing contracts and drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement with our purchasing department and outside vendors.
  • Schedule, develop the scope of work with subcontractors, and assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting.
  • Communicate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
  • Work closely with our project management team and respond to questions raised by superintendents and field workers on a daily basis.
  • Work with the project team to solve problems and will gain hands-on experience in the field.
  • Create and respond to requests for information (RFI).
  • Develop, process, and track equipment, materials, and informational submittals.
  • Create site-specific work plans and create operations and maintenance manuals for our clients.
  • Process change orders, create billing breakdowns, and conduct quantify take-off and estimates.

What You Need To Succeed At McKinstry:

  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management or comparable degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Electrical experience is a plus
  • Three (3) years of experience in engineering, project management or construction is required
  • Experience working for a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred
  • Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak preferred
  • Completed OSHA 30 class is required

The pay range for this position is $29.55 - $44.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a non-exempt role and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
