Job description
The Traveling Project Engineer will serve as a key member of the project team, supporting Project Managers and Superintendents throughout the construction lifecycle. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is looking to accelerate their career in construction management. Client Details Our client is a nationally recognized general contractor specializing in large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, and advanced technology construction projects across the United States. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are seeking a motivated Traveling Project Engineer to support field operations and project management teams on complex, high-profile builds. Description Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project operations. Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders. Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners. Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Maintain project schedules and support milestone tracking. Assist with procurement and material delivery coordination. Prepare meeting agendas, project reports, and documentation. Support quality control and safety initiatives on-site. Monitor project budgets and assist with cost tracking. Participate in project planning, forecasting, and closeout activities. Ensure project documents are maintained and updated accurately. Help identify and resolve project issues before they impact schedule or budget. Profile Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. 1-5+ years of construction experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or related role. Experience with commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, mission critical, data center, or large-scale building projects preferred. Strong understanding of construction processes and project documentation. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software is preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to travel extensively and work on projects throughout the country. Strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities.
