Position Summary
This position will be responsible for driving growth in Specialty by 1) building innovative products that secure our position as the market leader in payor focused Specialty solutions and 2) creating disruptive and holistic solutions to address oncology, rare disease, and other high-cost therapies to ensure best in class management of cost and quality of care. As part of these responsibilities, colleague will be responsible for developing a robust product roadmap based on current and anticipated market trends, and working across the organization to deliver new and market leading solutions to market.

Oncology, Rare Disease and High Cost Therapy Program Innovation

• Build and execute product roadmap that solves payor, provider and patient needs related to oncology, rare disease and other high cost therapies, including Develop cost management and population health programs such as formulary and coverage strategies, prior authorization programs, NCCN programs, care management programs, patient and provider engagement programs, value-based arrangements, and more to promote the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective programs which optimize health outcomes, improves the provider and member experience, and reduces costs for clients and members.Leverages pharmacist expertise to inform clinical strategy, to define drug lists, clinical pathways, program rules, the member and provider journey, and oversee the performance of clinical workflows and overall performance and experience to identify optimization opportunities.Assists in the development of tools and processes that improve the effectiveness of clinical and quality monitoring.Leverage unique assets across the PBM, Payor Relations, Specialty pharmacy, Coram, Digital, and Aetna to deliver differentiating capabilities that establish CVS as a leader in oncology and high cost therapy managementCollaborate across the organization – Product, Clinical, Operations, Finance, Legal, Sales, Marketing – and beyond, with external partners, to develop strategies that provide winning solutions to manage high cost medical drugs and treatments in market and in pipeline.Key skills:Thinks and Acts Strategically:Identifies new innovation and sources of value for the enterprise and sets the pace for delivering resultsCreates and strengthens partnerships within and outside the enterprise to deliver new solutionsUses critical thinking, “outside of the box” thinking, and strategy to balance multiple stakeholder needs (e.g., patient, payor, pharma, pharmacy, enterprise)Sets Direction:Engages in business plan development and proactively anticipate needs that can be addressed with an innovation strategy or solutionBuilds the roadmap to deliver innovation by leading developing, validating, and scaling data driven solutions to maintain market leadership with patient experience, clinical outcomes, and cost management strategiesImpacts and Influences:Develops and maintains productive relationships with all levels, internally and externallyFluent at cross functional leadershipDelivers resultsPlans, develops, and executes short- and long-range innovation program goalsIdentifies risk and mitigation strategies to deliver innovation solutionsPrepares and delivers presentations that translate analytic insights to tangible actionable solutions to implementSets vision and gains alignment from team and cross functional partners; holds individuals and self accountable for results.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ experience developing and owning healthcare innovation products with and in-depth understanding of managed care and overall marketplace dynamics to anticipate and address emerging market needs.
• Registered pharmacist (Doctor of Pharmacy).
• Ability to manage multiple high growth products and related budgets
• Ability to frame complex problems and develop solutions that address multiple interests with minimal guidance and direction - trusted team member with considerable autonomy to shape strategic direction of offerings.
• Advanced Impact and Influence skills – ability to influence and establish rapport with colleagues both senior and junior to him/her.
• Experience working effectively with multiple other teams and driving work forward in a matrix-style organization.
• Ability to achieve established goals while navigating a complex and highly matrix structured organization.
• Analytical abilities - design business plans and find insights through analytics and to make recommendations for innovation strategy and refinement.
• Ability to travel 1-2x per year.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$141,625.00 - $239,250.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
