Job Description: The Washington State Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign is seeking a Field Organizer for Congressional District 8 to join our 2026 campaign. With multiple targeted congressional and legislative races across the state, our Field Organizers will be critical to the success of midterm races in 2026.

This position will report to our North Central Regional Field Director. This job is a full-time, campaign cycle position and is part of a collective bargaining unit. Evening and weekend work will be required, particularly as we get closer to the 2026 General Election.

This position would be responsible for organizing across Congressional District 8, and the multiple Legislative Districts therein. CD 8 is a geographically expansive district that encompasses communities from Issaquah, to Wenatchee, to Eatonville.

Applicants must reside within or nearby CD 8, or be willing to relocate before their start date. Organizers will be expected to work out of our regional campaign office in Issaquah regularly, and must be able to reliably travel across this expansive district.

Experience:

• Past political organizing experience as a fellow or volunteer preferred
• Familiarity with Votebuilder/VAN is a bonus
• Ability to adapt to evolving priorities
• Comfortable working in metrics and a deadline-driven environment
• Access to reliable transportation across the entirety of the organizing region and the ability to work evening and weekend hours
• Comfortable scheduling self, volunteers, and constituents for events/meetings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Responsibilities:

• Recruit, coach, train, and manage volunteer leaders across the state who are ready to talk to voters and take on management of their own teams of volunteers.
• Support targeted 2026 candidates by running direct voter contact events, including in-person and virtual phone banks and canvasses.
• Organize at the "grasstops" level, building authentic and accountable relationships with community leaders to create a coalition willing to take direct action to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
• Use various organizing tactics, including but not limited to 1:1 conversations, phone calls, texting, knocking on doors, and social media engagement to grow our network of action-oriented volunteers.
• Meet high-volume weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals, including substantial phone outreach targets. Field Organizers should expect a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with consistent accountability to quantitative goals.
• Work to create a professional staff culture that is upbeat and empowering, with a mind towards greater inclusion, a customer-service attitude, and a willingness to solve problems creatively.
• Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with local party leaders, activist groups, and partner organizations so that we have strong and robust partnerships in advance of the 2026 election.
• Consistently meet deadlines and communicate with your direct supervisor when challenges arise that will prevent you and/or your team from meeting your goals.
• A commitment to creatively solving challenges that will occur with goals, strategies, and tactics.
• Other duties as required.

Salary and Benefits: The wage for this position is $24 per hour, with overtime paid at 1 times the hourly rate after 40 hours. A typical week will be scheduled for 50 hours, with more overtime available during the GOTV window leading up to the Primary Election in August and General Election in November. Benefits include stipends for healthcare, phone, and mileage; sick leave, bereavement, and paid observed holidays. This position is a part of the Coordinated Campaign's collective bargaining unit.
