With 200 offices across North America, we combine the personalized service model of a local consultant with the global resources of the world's leading professional services firm, Marsh (NYSE: MRSH).

A day in the life.

As an Employee Health & Benefits Strategic Pharmacy Consultant, you will:

  • Function as a primary pharmacy benefits consultant and strategic partner for MMA SE field offices and a book of clients, managing pharmacy benefit programs end-to-end.
  • Lead client pharmacy market bids, RFPs, and Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) vendor procurement and negotiations.
  • Conduct pharmacy analytics with the SE Pharmacy Practice analytic partners of PBM financial and operational performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Present results, recommendations, and overall pharmacy benefit consulting to clients, prospects, and internal teams during several types of meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external clinical pharmacists, actuarial, financial, analytics, health management, and wellbeing teams to develop multi-year integrated pharmacy and clinical strategies.
  • Co-lead regular training sessions for MMA SE colleagues on clinical and pharmacy topics to enhance knowledge and support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with MMA SE offices, producers, client teams, and strategic partners.
  • Drive growth by serving as the pharmacy benefits expert in new client pursuits, crafting tailored messaging and solutions with the Regional Director of Pharmacy to expand pharmacy benefits revenue.
  • Contribute pharmacy insights to broader health and benefits strategy and growth initiatives.
  • Develop new pharmacy approaches and engage with new solution vendors to explore strategic partnerships and solution opportunities.
  • Demonstrate leadership by mentoring other consultants within the pharmacy practice.
  • Support strategic partnerships through their launch, maintenance, and enhancement.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy practice, including coordinating workflow, supporting process improvements, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy practice leadership to implement operational policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Support resource planning and allocation to meet client demands and project timelines effectively.

Our future colleague.

We'd love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent career experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of direct experience in pharmacy, PBMs, or related industries, including at least 5 years in a sales operations or account management role with proven success.
  • Deep knowledge of PBM contracts, clinical pharmacy, or experience in analysis and negotiations related to pharmacy manufacturers and products.
  • Experience leading teams, managing projects, and developing strategic partnerships.
  • Consultative presence with polished written and oral communication skills, capable of simplifying complex ideas.
  • Strategic thinker who challenges the status quo by asking tough questions and innovating solutions.
  • Strong influence and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with management and cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Commitment to staying current with developments in pharmacy and broader health and benefits plan strategies, contributing to new tools and approaches.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, this role's travel expectation is no more than 25%.
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of hire.

We know there are excellent candidates who might not check all of these boxes. Don't be shy. If you're close, we'd be very interested in meeting you.

Valuable benefits.

We value and respect the impact our colleagues make every day both inside and outside our organization.
