Job Description
The paramount duty of this position is to serve as the facility subject matter expert and principal advisor to executive leadership regarding research compliance program effectiveness, research integrity, human subject protections, and biosafety oversight. The Controlled Substance Coordinator function is a collateral program responsibility of comparable analytical and advisory scope. This position is responsible for independently planning, organizing, and carrying out research compliance and controlled substance program oversight, education, training, auditing, monitoring, and quality assurance activities. The incumbent provides expert guidance and consultation to executive leadership, investigators, service chiefs, committee members, and research staff regarding the interpretation and application of federal regulations, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) policies, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) directives, and accreditation requirements. The incumbent identifies organizational risks, develops corrective action strategies, evaluates program effectiveness, and recommends improvements to ensure compliance with all applicable research and controlled substance accountability requirements.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
