Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Tax Supervisor to join our public accounting team. This role is ideal for a tax professional who is ready to take ownership of client engagements, review complex tax work, support staff development, and contribute to long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax engagements from initial planning through final delivery.
• Review federal and state tax returns, workpapers, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure tax filings are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
• Research complex tax matters and provide practical recommendations to clients.
• Serve as a main contact for clients and respond to questions in a professional and timely manner.
• Monitor engagement timelines, deadlines, workflow, and client deliverables.
• Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff.
• Review staff work and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify opportunities to improve client service and provide additional advisory support.
• Assist with firm training, mentoring, and internal process improvement initiatives.
• Support business development efforts and help maintain strong client relationships.
• Represent the firm professionally in business, civic, and community settings.

Qualifications

• Public accounting tax experience at the Senior, Supervisor, or Manager level.
• CPA license, EA license, or active progress toward CPA or EA licensure preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and ability to research complex tax issues.
• Prior experience supervising, training, or mentoring staff.
• Strong client service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with partners and team members.
• Interest in building lasting client relationships and contributing to firm growth.
