At Disney, we’re storytellers. We make the impossible, possible. The Walt Disney Company is a world-class entertainment and technological leader. Walt’s passion was to continuously envision new ways to move audiences around the world—a passion that remains our touchstone in an enterprise that stretches from theme parks, resorts and a cruise line to sports, news, movies and a variety of other businesses. Uniting each endeavor is a commitment to creating and delivering unforgettable experiences — and we’re constantly looking for new ways to enhance these exciting experiences.

The Enterprise Technology mission is to deliver technology solutions that align to business strategies while enabling enterprise efficiency and promoting cross-company collaborative innovation. Our group drives competitive advantage by enhancing our consumer experiences, enabling business growth, and advancing operational excellence.

Team Description:

The Global Network Engineering & Operations (GNEO) organization is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operational integrity of the enterprise’s global telecommunications and network infrastructure. GNEO’s mission is to design, deliver, and operate scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions that support business capabilities across all regions and lines of business.

GNEO engineers and designs advanced network and transport systems to meet evolving business requirements, strategic initiatives, and long-term technology roadmaps. This includes a wide range of transport and IP topologies, modern network services, automation frameworks, and standards-based network architectures aligned with Telecom Strategy & Architecture guidelines.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Network Engineering & Operations, this role focuses on deploying excellent network products for business stakeholders at The Walt Disney Company. The team provides infrastructure operational support using automation and infrastructure as code technologies. The outcomes of the team are considered network product offerings, specially built for the unique workflows of corporate networks and attraction networks worldwide, including streaming, film-making, TV production, broadcast, post-production and other media businesses.

We are seeking a Senior Network Systems Reliability Engineer to support the Global Network Engineering & Operations Team, Automation & Observability team. This role is responsible for executing transformation strategies for the Automation, Observability and AI platforms, translating strategy into operational reality through governance, product operating models, vendor relationships, technical roadmaps, documentation, and cross organizational coordination. The candidate will work closely with executive leadership, product teams, engineering, and operational stakeholders to ensure delivery of capital initiatives, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across 2026–2027 transformation efforts.

The Senior Network Systems Reliability Engineer is responsible for maintenance and lifecycle support of network infrastructure hardware and software, ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and reliable. This role also serves as an asset data analyst—maintaining high-quality inventory and license data, operational support, producing reports and insights for lifecycle planning and compliance—and partners with vendors to manage support, renewals, and service performance. The position has a strong focus on reducing technical debt and minimizing risk to the environment through standardization, timely upgrades, proactive remediation, and disciplined change practices. The candidate will drive the data, observability and AI efforts for the Global Network Team and will collaborate across the enterprise to assure alignment with executives and stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manages support for network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, network circuits) coordination of repairs/replacements.

  • Manages licensing and renewals for network infrastructure software/services: maintain renewal calendar, track entitlements/support contracts, coordinate quotes/POs, and ensure timely renewals to avoid service interruption.

  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory for network infrastructure (hardware and software) including location, configuration/standard, warranty/support status, lifecycle stage, and disposal records.

  • Serve as an asset data analyst: reconcile inventory and license data across tools/sources, perform periodic audits, and produce dashboards/metrics (e.g., compliance, refresh cycles, warranty exposure, utilization) to inform budgeting and lifecycle decisions.

  • Lead vendor management activities for network infrastructure hardware/software: track support cases, RMAs/repairs and replacements, manage SLAs/support coverage, and support contract terms, true-ups, and renewal negotiations.

  • Assist with network security and compliance activities (firmware/patch compliance, configuration standardization, vulnerability remediation support, log/monitoring coverage) in partnership with IT/security.

  • Reduce technical debt by driving standard configurations, eliminating unsupported/end-of-life infrastructure, coordinating upgrades/refreshes, and improving runbooks/documentation to increase stability and maintainability.

  • Minimize risk to the environment by following change management practices, assessing impact/rollback plans, validating monitoring/alerting coverage, and partnering on vulnerability remediation and resiliency improvements.

  • Coordinate with procurement/finance on purchasing and renewals: gather requirements, obtain and compare vendor quotes, recommend options, submit/track POs, and maintain renewal and spend visibility.

  • Track, prioritize, and resolve tickets within SLA; communicate status updates and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure and/or IT operations (e.g., NOC, network support, infrastructure support) including hardware/software lifecycle activities.

  • Familiarity with Python, and SQL for data processing and dashboarding.

  • Working knowledge of common network technologies and operations (switching/routing fundamentals, Wi Fi, VPN, DNS/DHCP concepts) and the ability to troubleshoot connectivity and infrastructure issues.

  • Experience tracking and renewing software licenses/subscriptions and maintaining compliance/entitlement records.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel (pivot tables/lookups), reporting, and data hygiene practices to maintain accurate asset/license records.

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) and strong documentation habits.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain a renewal calendar, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.

  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with network services and devices (e.g., switches, firewalls, wireless access points), including interpreting logs/alerts and validating changes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MBA or related discipline.

  • Experience with network management/monitoring and configuration tools (e.g., LogicMonitor, Cisco DNA Center, Aruba Central) and/or ticketing/ITSM platforms.

  • Experience supporting network services such as VPN, NAC, DNS/DHCP, and wireless authentication (e.g., RADIUS/802.1X).

  • Familiarity with IT asset management (ITAM) practices and tools; understanding of software asset management (SAM).

  • Experience building operational reports/dashboards (e.g., Power BI) and using data to drive asset lifecycle, compliance, and cost optimization decisions.

  • Vendor management experience (support cases, renewals, contract terms, true-ups, audits).

  • Familiarity with change management, risk management, and operational best practices (e.g., ITIL concepts, CAB/change control, incident/problem management).

  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, ITIL Foundation).

Required Education:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
