Job description

Req ID:524495

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling, and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time onsite EHS Project Manager in Atlanta, GA, US we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental, health, and safety expertise in a dynamic and impactful field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teammates.

You'll play a critical role in creating a safe and healthy environment for our people and contractors while minimizing environmental impacts. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as project management, subcontractor teams, and HR), implement emergency plans, and ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of EHS risk assessments and emergency planning, but also support project teams in achieving EHS performance goals.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Ensuring EHS risk assessments are conducted and appropriate measures are implemented for the project.

  • Preparing, implementing, and maintaining emergency plans at the project level.

  • Monitoring subcontractor activities to ensure EHS compliance, especially at operational interfaces.

  • Providing coaching, support, and assessments to EHS teams within the project.

  • Ensuring compliance with Alstom EHS standards and tools, such as the Zero Deviation Plan (AZDP) and Transport Operational Performance in Environment (TOPE).

  • Preparing and implementing EHS training and communication plans with HR support.

  • Investigating and analyzing accidents/incidents and sharing lessons learned through REX reports.

  • Submitting monthly EHS reports and maintaining accurate records and documentation.

  • Monitoring historical pollution and associated risks.

  • Driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A university degree in engineering or business (desirable), or equivalent experience

  • Hands-on EHS experience in transportation, automotive, rail, or industrial manufacturing (or related fields)

  • 3+ years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety, with 5–8 years of professional experience overall
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations

  • EHS-related qualification/certification

  • Good knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.

  • Deep understanding of local legal requirements.

  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills.

  • Initiative, action-driven mindset, and excellent communication skills.

  • Analytical thinking and a rigorous approach to problem-solving.

  • Proficiency in continuous improvement tools and strong computer skills.

  • No regular travel expected ; About less than 5% for trainings/conferences if needed

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.

  • Work with new safety and environmental standards for rail projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues.

  • Contribute to innovative projects that make a tangible difference.

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.

  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning opportunities.

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
