WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
· Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts and appetizers.
· Specific tasks include but not limited to veggie prep, grilling, roasting, soups, stocks, baking
· Follows specific recipes as directed by Lead Chef
· Cook food in a timely manner
· Ensure appealing presentation
· Check freshness of food for proper food storage and rotation
· Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
· Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
· Create prep lists
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Required:
· Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
· Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
· Knowledge of culinary techniques
· Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks under extreme pressure
· Excellent time management abilities
· Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
· Familiarity with sanitation regulations and have Food Handers Card
· Taking leadership and providing direction as needed of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties
· Attention to detail.
· Ability to communicate in a fast-moving environment.
· Ability to take and provide direction and work independently with those directions.
Preferred:
· Knowledge of baking and pastry techniques
