Description
Our client is seeking one contract-to-hire Systems engineer for the Platform and Cloud Engineering Team. This role is responsible for administering, securing, monitoring, and optimizing the organization’s Microsoft 365 ecosystem and supporting its cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive
- Design, implement, and maintain Intune device management policies, compliance baselines, and application deployment strategies
- Manage identity and access in Entra ID, including Conditional Access policies, MFA/authentication strategies, privileged identity management, and hybrid identity/sync issues
- Architect and troubleshoot Azure resources and services supporting the organization’s cloud infrastructure
- Build and maintain Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI, to automate business processes and reporting
- Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex, high-impact incidents across the Microsoft 365 and Azure environment
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and related tools to streamline administration and reduce manual work
- Own documentation of system architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Evaluate new Microsoft features and licensing changes and recommend adoption strategies
- Monitor the availability, performance, capacity, and health of cloud and on-premises infrastructure using Azure Monitor and other enterprise monitoring tools
- Review system alerts, investigate infrastructure issues, perform initial troubleshooting, document findings, and escalate complex incidents to senior administrators or engineers
- Partner with security, compliance, and other IT teams on governance, audits, and risk mitigation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or an accepted equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5+ years of hands-on production experience administering Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, and Entra ID
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration
- Demonstrated experience with Conditional Access, identity security, and device compliance management
- Experience designing, administering, or supporting Power Platform solutions
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex, cross-platform environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and lead technical initiatives
Desirable Qualifications:
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300, or PL-400
- Experience with Microsoft Graph API
- Experience using Azure Monitor or comparable enterprise infrastructure monitoring tools
- Experience in a public-sector, healthcare, governance, compliance-heavy, or regulated environment
- Familiarity with Intune co-management, Windows Autopilot, or hybrid Azure AD/Entra join scenarios
- Experience mentoring team members or leading small technical projects
