Travel Medical Assistant – Nationwide | Temp/Seasonal
Bring preventive healthcare directly to patients where they live while working on a temporary, project-based assignment that keeps you moving. In this W-2 Temporary/Seasonal Travel Medical Assistant role, you'll complete scheduled in-home visits across the United States, supporting preventive care, health assessments, and care-gap initiatives.
This assignment is expected to continue through January 2027. Based on continued business needs, performance, and availability, the assignment may be extended or renewed by mutual agreement. Employment beyond the project period is not guaranteed.
Role Snapshot

What You'll Own
- Travel nationwide to complete scheduled in-home patient/member visits
- Support Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and other preventive-care activities
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, health screenings, and required patient information
- Perform approved point-of-care testing, including A1Cs and UAs, and specimen collection as applicable
- Support health assessments, care-gap activities, and other assigned clinical programs
- Perform standard Medical Assistant responsibilities within your authorized scope
- Accurately and promptly document visits in the EMR/EHR and other designated systems
- Follow established infection-control, safety, HIPAA/privacy, and escalation procedures
- Stay organized across changing routes, patient schedules, coverage needs, equipment, and supplies
- Help create a professional, respectful, patient-first experience during every home visit
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
- Medical Assistant certificate, diploma, credential, or equivalent qualification
- Hands-on clinical Medical Assistant experience
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, current registration, and active auto insurance
- Ability and willingness to travel nationwide, including assignments outside your home state
- Ability to complete extended and overnight assignments as needed
- Comfortable working independently in patients' homes
- Ability to meet vaccination and TB/PPD onboarding requirements
- Strong communication, documentation, organization, and patient-service skills
- Ability to follow established clinical and operational protocols
Nice-to-Haves
- Medicare Annual Wellness Visit or preventive-care experience
- Prior home visit, mobile care, field-based care, or community health experience
- Experience with A1Cs, UAs, specimen collection, or similar point-of-care testing
- Experience documenting patient visits in an EMR/EHR system
Travel, Schedule, and Assignment Expectations
This is a nationwide travel position. You must be comfortable traveling to assigned markets anywhere within the United States based on project volume, patient availability, geographic coverage needs, and other business requirements.
You should expect frequent travel, including extended and overnight assignments when needed. Schedules are typically provided about two weeks in advance.
The typical schedule is 8 AM–5 PM, either Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday, depending on the assignment. The role is generally scheduled for full-time hours; however, actual weekly hours may increase or decrease based on patient volume and assignment needs.
If patient volume is low, there is a 20-hour weekly pay guarantee.
Travel Support
- Mileage reimbursement of $0.725 per mile between eligible patient visits
- Required travel time is paid
- Out-of-state travel and required flights to and from assignments are paid
- Eligible travel expenses are covered, including transportation, flights when needed, rental cars when needed, hotels, and meals
Temporary/Seasonal Assignment
This position is specifically being hired to support a temporary project expected to continue through January 2027.
Employment beyond the project period is not guaranteed. If business needs continue and performance and availability remain satisfactory, the assignment may be extended or renewed by mutual agreement.
Temporary/seasonal Medical Assistants are not eligible for benefits.
